PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stones for Projects Worth Over ₹40,000 Crore in Purnea, Bihar.

On September 15, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Purnea, Bihar, where he launched key development projects across aviation, railways, and water resources, with a total investment exceeding ₹40,000 crore, aimed at boosting connectivity, irrigation, and regional infrastructure.


      - PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the Interim Terminal Building at the New Civil Enclave of Purnea Airport and flagged off the first commercial flight from the city, integrating the Seemanchal region into India’s aviation map.

      - The Prime Minister inaugurated the Araria-Galgalia (Thakurganj) Rail Line valued at ₹4,140 crore, which enhances connectivity between north Bihar and North Bengal, ensuring improved passenger and freight movement.

     

Main Point :-   (i) PM Modi dedicated the completion of electrification works on multiple railway sections, modernising Bihar’s railway infrastructure and aligning with India’s sustainable rail transport goals.

      (ii) He laid the foundation stone for the Bikramshila-Katareah Rail Line, worth ₹2,170 crore, which will create a direct rail link across the river Ganga, reducing travel bottlenecks and improving north–south Bihar connectivity.

(iii) The Prime Minister launched Phase 1 of the Kosi-Mechi Intra-State River Link Project, worth over ₹2,680 crore, designed to expand irrigation, strengthen flood control, and support agricultural resilience across multiple districts in northeastern Bihar.
