Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu secured a silver medal in the 48kg category at the 2025 World Weightlifting Championships held in Forde, Norway. She also set new national records in the Clean & Jerk and total lift, marking her third World Championship medal.
- Mirabai Chanu lifted a total of 199kg in the 48kg division, setting new Indian national records with 115kg in Clean & Jerk and 199kg in total lift. This medal adds to her previous World Championship successes, making it her third medal at this level.
- North Korea’s Ri Song-gum dominated the event by winning three gold medals in the 48kg category. Ri set new world records with a 91kg snatch, a 122kg Clean & Jerk, and a total lift of 213kg.
- Thailand’s Thanyathon Sukcharoen claimed the bronze medal with a total lift of 198kg, finishing just behind Mirabai Chanu in this closely contested event.
