On August 29, 2025, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced a landmark partnership with Googleâdesignating it as their second global womenâs-only partnerâto harness Googleâs advanced technology and expand fan accessibility, just ahead of two major tournaments: the ICC Womenâs Cricket World Cup 2025 and the ICC Womenâs T20 World Cup 2026.
- In a formal media release from the ICC, the collaboration was revealed to leverage several of Google's productsâAndroid, Google Gemini, Google Pay, and Google Pixelâto create a seamless, interactive ecosystem across mobile and digital platforms that encourages fans to stay close to key match moments, players, and stories through the entire journey of discovery and celebration.
- ICC Chairman Jay Shah hailed the alliance as a milestone for womenâs cricket, stating that âby harnessing Googleâs world-class innovation, we will be able to create more engaging experiences for fans and bring the sport closer to people everywhere,â and emphasizing the aim to inspire future generations to view cricket as a sport where they belong.
