In August 2025, Indian para table tennis star Bhavina Hasmukhbhai Patel, who also serves as an Assistant Director at the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Regional Office, Ahmedabad, secured remarkable victories at the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) World Para Events in Spokane, Washington, United States of America (USA). Her achievements brought global recognition to Indian para sports.
- At the ITTF World Para Future event, held between 6th to 8th August 2025, Bhavina Patel won the Silver Medal in the Women’s Singles Class 4-5 category. This event featured upcoming para table tennis talents and provided an international platform for competitive excellence.
- She followed this with an outstanding performance at the ITTF World Para Elite event, conducted from 9th to 13th August 2025, also in Spokane. Competing against some of the strongest players in the world, Bhavina Patel clinched the Gold Medal in the Women’s Singles Class 4-5 category, underlining her consistency and determination.
- These back-to-back victories allowed Bhavina Patel to rise to the World No. 1 position in the Women’s Singles Class 1-5 category of para table tennis. This is a historic achievement for India, highlighting the growing stature of Indian athletes in global para sports.
