Lieutenant Commander Yashasvi Solanki became the first woman officer from the Indian Navy to be appointed as an Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the President of India in May 2025, marking a significant milestone in naval history.


      - An ADC serves as the President’s personal assistant, coordinating communication and ensuring protocol between the President and various military and civilian establishments, playing a crucial role in day-to-day official functioning.

      - The President usually appoints five ADCs: three from the Indian Army, and one each from the Navy and Air Force. Officers from any branch can be selected at the President’s discretion based on merit.

      - Yashasvi Solanki's appointment signifies recognition of her outstanding service and growing acknowledgment of women's contributions in the Indian Armed Forces, especially in leadership and ceremonial roles.

Main Point :-   (i) The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), under the Ministry of Science and Technology, observed Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 from May 1–15 across its headquarters, PSUs, and autonomous institutions, promoting national cleanliness efforts.

      (ii) Activities included installing e-waste bins, sanitary napkin disposal units, and waste shredders to promote sustainability and cleanliness under the Government of India’s flagship Swachh Bharat Mission initiative.

(iii) Events like CPR and BLS training, health check-ups, cleanliness drives, tree plantations, and awareness sessions on plastic use and stress management were organized to promote hygiene and community well-being.
