Indian Army Unveils ‘Meghdoot Millennium’ – Advanced Postal Software for Defence Personnel.

In May 2025, the Indian Army Postal Service Corps (APSC), in collaboration with the Department of Posts (DoP) under the Ministry of Communications (MoC), inaugurated 'Meghdoot Millennium', a secure, real-time postal software tailored for defence personnel.


      - The launch event took place at the Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology (CEPT) in Mysuru, Karnataka, and was presided over by Vandita Kaul, Secretary, DoP, and Lieutenant General V.M.B. Krishnan, Quarter Master General (QMG) of the Indian Army (IA).

     

     

Main Point :-   (i) ‘Meghdoot Millennium’, developed by CEPT, Mysuru, is engineered to improve the efficiency, digital integration, and security of postal services for the Indian armed forces.

      (ii) The software enables real-time tracking and secure communication, addressing the specialized postal needs of defence personnel, particularly those posted in remote and sensitive operational areas.

(iii) This initiative is in alignment with the Indian Army's 'Year of Tech Absorption' (2024) and the wider 'Decade of Transformation' campaign, both aimed at modernizing defence logistics, infrastructure, and communication systems.
